A Homerun at Fenway Park

Some people thought the baseball season at Fenway Park was over – but not so fast! On Sunday, September 30 the Hearts On Fire team and hundreds of New England fans eagerly invaded this iconic Boston location for an amazing, fun-filled day…our first ever Diamond Hunt at Fenway.

Neither Hearts On Fire or Fenway had ever thrown such an event! More than 250 couples came out to compete for a $20,000 diamond engagement ring (plus two runner up prizes worth $5,000) and despite the gloomy skies and drizzling rain, the day was a hit! With a DJ, concession stands, tons of HOF swag and more than 30 raffle prizes to be won, participants were entertained all afternoon while enjoying hanging out in one of their favorite places.

So what exactly was the Diamond Hunt? Think of the hit show “Amazing Race”…then put couples inside Fenway Park. And you’re close!

After two rounds of trivia, focusing on Red Sox and Fenway history and statistics, the group was narrowed down to eight final couples. This is where the real scavenger hunt began! The group took off to the Green Monster and then out to Center Field, competing  in two skill challenges that would narrow the group down to the final three couples.

After digging through buckets of Fenway dirt to find their final clues, the final three teams raced around the park solving puzzles that would lead them one step closer to the grand prize. When Amanda and Mike, our winners from Peabody, MA, opened the winning envelope, the celebration left many people in tears – including some of the HOF team and our Fenway Park event coordinator!

If you missed out this year, don’t worry! We have already started planning to make the Diamond Hunt bigger and better next year, so we hope to see you in year two!
