Trend Alert: All Metal Bands Are Back
I have to admit, fashion trends are one of my favorite things to keep an eye on in this industry. While many come and go, some stick around forever, and some resurface after years of being silent. It’s kind of like a game to keep track of it all!
Earlier this Spring and Summer we started to notice one of those old, popular trends come back to life. And it’s a trend that hasn’t gone away. So, join me in welcoming back all-metal bands to the diamond jewelry industry!
After years of diamond bling (including huge center stones, bold halo designs and flashy diamond bands) taking center stage with engagement rings and wedding band trends, you can imagine how fast it caught our attention when we first started hearing questions and requests for all-metal designs from our consumers.
And it wasn’t a one-time thing – through interaction online with our Perfection Stylist, comments on social media and even requests in stores, we began to hear more and more about this trend. At one point our top three most asked about engagement ring styles online were all all-metal bands (Insignia, Simply Bridal Twist and Delight Lady Di – all featured in this post) and on the ever-popular social media site Pinterest, five out of the seven top engagement rings pinned over the course of a few months all had all-metal bands as well.
So why do we think this style is making such a comeback? To be honest, it’s hard to argue why it wouldn’t, with its classic and elegant look. Think about it – without diamonds on your band, all of the focus is on your center stone. And that’s something sure to “wow” people!
We have to admit, this seems to be a trend that will be around for a long time again. So, what do you think? Would you want an engagement ring with an all-metal band, or possibly an all metal wedding ring to match?
